What do I teach? What is Important?

What should you teach? What is important? These are some of the questions that we as Physical Educators ask ourselves everyday. Should class time be devoted to teaching purely skills? Or should we concentrate on aerobic and anaerobic fitness?

When I think about the focal points of a lesson these are some of the questions that allot of us will ask ourselves. In my experience I have found that for the most part the average student will not make it to the N.H.L., and they most likely won't make it to the N.B.A. This I feel is very important to note when deciding what to teach?
I feel that exposing the students to a wide range of sports and skills is the way to go. By becoming "Sport Diverse" If you will, this allows the student to experience activities and exercises outside of the traditional realm. I feel that as people age, most will lack the ability to participate in these types of sports. I think that if we expose students to sports like Badminton,PickleBall, and Volleyball I feel that as adults, they will not only enjoy these games, but are more apt to participate in these sports throughout there life, and by doing so it will help them maintain live an active and healthy lifestyle.

Over the years I have noticed that, while I always enjoyed playing sports like Hockey,Basketball,Soccer, and Football. It wasn't until recently that I wished I was exposed to sports other than those mentioned.

Let me Know your thoughts.
